Living in a college town means that there are a lot of smart, curious, and engaging people that are passionate about education. Ingensia is a grass roots, community program that brings people together to contemplate, dialogue, and share life affirming moments.
The Ingensia topics vary but the message is the same:
- lifelong learning is critical to the local and global communities that we live in, and
- knowledge, communication and understanding are vital to the health of people and the planet
Like many things in Kent, Ingensia defies simple explanation. It is equal parts collaborative study, theater, discussion and a cross-pollination experience between town and gown that makes this program particularly intriguing and uniquely Kent. The program seeks to bring a focus on the fundamental questions of life through a cultural/social/educational journey.
The founder of Ingensia noted that Kent Ohio “is a perfect place to plant the seeds of Ingensia. It is a community dedicated to the education of its citizens and people from around the world… with vision, care, and a palpable spirit of cooperation and goodwill.”
